Job Summary

​

Be the Hana Koa Brewing expert, telling beer stories, and serving our guests with Aloha.

 

Directly reports to the Taproom Manager.

 

This job has the opportunity for growth and promotion.

​

​

Essential Duties

​

  • Greet guests in a friendly manner

  • Check identification of customers to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol.

  • Attempt to limit problems and liability related to customers' excessive drinking by taking steps such as persuading customers to stop drinking, or ordering taxis or other transportation for intoxicated patrons.

  • Clean glasses, utensils, and bar equipment.

  • Take beverage orders from serving staff or directly from patrons.

  • Serve wine, and beer in appropriate glassware

  • Maintain the cleanliness of the bar

  • Take food and beverage orders, keeping in mind guests dietary or allergy restrictions and effectively communicating that to the kitchen team

  • Be the Hana Koa Brewing Expert and guide guests towards their next favorite beer and/or dish

  • Be a contributing member to the team whether it be helping a fellow server, host, bartender, or guest.

  • Responsibly serve alcohol, knowing what to recommend and encourage healthy consumption

  • Keep drinks full and food dishes coming, as well as being prompt with final check delivery

  • Stock bar stations with items such as ice, napkins, dishes

  • Remove trays and stack dishes for return to kitchen after meals are finished

  • Communicate inventory of kegs for future volume needs

  • Efficiently use the POS system to communicate to the Kitchen, reporting all sales for accurate payment collection

  • Complete daily sidework

  • Clean the tap lines after kegs kick to maintain the freshness of the beer

  • Change kegs to maintain availability of beers on the tap list

Education

​

This position requires a high school diploma (or GED or high school equivalence certificate).

​

Certification and Licensing
