We are a family-owned brewery located in Kaka'ako! We have a full production brewing facility right next to a taproom and full kitchen. We are looking for amazing service staff to join our team.

Job Summary
Be the Hana Koa Brewing expert, telling beer stories, and serving our guests with Aloha. Lead Bartender will be responsible for a rotating unique cocktail beverage program, inventory, and helping the Bar Manager train the bartender and service staff on the beverage program. Directly reports to the Bar Manager. This position has opportunities for growth and promotion.

Essential Duties
​

Plan bar menus.

Create drink recipes.
-
Supervise the work of bar staff and other bartenders. Help the Bar Manager enforce the service and cleanliness standards through training and daily checklists.

Create a training program for other bartenders and service staff.

Greet guests in a friendly manner
-
Check identification of customers to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol.

Attempt to limit problems and liability related to customers' excessive drinking by taking steps such as persuading customers to stop drinking, or ordering taxis or other transportation for intoxicated patrons.

Serve wine, and beer in appropriate glassware

Clean glasses, utensils, and bar equipment.

Take beverage orders from serving staff or directly from patrons.

Maintain the cleanliness of the bar

Take food and beverage orders, keeping in mind guests dietary or allergy restrictions and effectively communicating that to the kitchen team

Be the Hana Koa Brewing Expert and guide guests towards their next favorite beer and/or dish

Be a contributing member to the team whether it be helping a fellow server, host, bartender, or guest.

Responsibly serve alcohol, knowing what to recommend and encourage healthy consumption

Keep drinks full and food dishes coming, as well as being prompt with final check delivery

Stock bar stations with items such as ice, napkins, dishes
-
Remove trays and stack dishes for return to kitchen after meals are finished
-
Communicate inventory of kegs for future volume needs

Efficiently use the POS system to communicate to the Kitchen, reporting all sales for accurate payment collection

Complete daily sidework
-
Clean the tap lines after kegs kick to maintain the freshness of the beer

Change kegs to maintain availability of beers on the tap list

Stock bar with beer, wine, liquor, and related supplies such as ice, glassware, napkins, or straws.

Mix ingredients, such as liquor, soda, water, sugar, and bitters, to prepare cocktails and other drinks.

Education
​
This position requires a high school diploma (or GED or high school equivalence certificate).
