• DOES MY DOG NEED TO BE A RESCUE?

  • Nope! All dogs are welcome!

• ARE THERE ANY BREED OR SIZE RESTRICTIONS?

  • Nope! All breeds and sizes are welcome!

• CAN I WALK WITH MY DOG ON THE RUNWAY?

  • Yes — and it is required! All dogs must be walked by their handler at all times. No dog will ever be off leash during the event.

• IS THIS A DOG FRIENDLY EVENT FOR SPECTATORS?

  • Unfortunately no. Only registered competitors are permitted to bring their dogs to the event.

• WHAT HAPPENS AFTER I PRE-REGISTER?

  • Our event director will reach out with a full competitor packet containing everything you need to know before June 6th.

• IS THE ENTRY FEE REFUNDABLE IF THE EVENT IS CANCELLED?

  • Absolutely! If the event is cancelled by Hana Koa Brewing Company, a full refund will be issued.

 

ABOUT THE COMPETITION

• HOW MANY ROUNDS ARE THERE?

  • There are two rounds. Round 1 features Dogs 1-10 and Round 2 features Dogs 11-20. Each round includes individual showcase walks followed by a rapid succession finale where every dog in the round walks one final time back to back.

• HOW LONG DOES MY DOG HAVE ON THE RUNWAY?

  • Each competitor gets up to 90 seconds for their individual showcase walk. Use every second!

• CAN I ENTER MORE THAN ONE DOG?

  • Unfortunately no. One dog per entry.​

 

ABOUT THE DAY

• IS THE EVENT INDOORS OR OUTDOORS?

  • Outdoors in our main parking lot at Hana Koa Brewing Company.

• WHAT TIME SHOULD I ARRIVE?

  • Competitor check-in opens at 4:00 PM. Please arrive on time as late arrivals may forfeit their spot without refund.

• CAN MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS COME WATCH?

  • Absolutely — and we encourage it! Crowd reaction is 30% of the judging criteria so bring as many people as possible and make some noise!

• WHERE DO I CHECK IN?

  • Check-in will be at the designated check-in booth in the Hana Koa parking lot. Look for signage when you arrive.

 

ABOUT THE DOGS

• DOES MY DOG NEED TO BE VACCINATED?

  • Yes. All competitors will be required to sign a waiver confirming their dog is current on vaccinations. 

• WHAT IF MY DOG GETS ANXIOUS OR AGGRESSIVE?

  • Any dog that displays aggression toward people or other dogs will be immediately removed from the event with no refund. It is the handler's responsibility to ensure your dog can handle a loud, stimulating outdoor environment with crowds, music, and other dogs present. Please know your dog before you register.

• IS THERE A PLACE FOR MY DOG TO RELIEVE THEMSELVES?

  • Yes! There will be a designated Dog Relief Area at the event. Handlers are responsible for cleaning up after their dog at all times.

• CAN I BRING FOOD AND WATER FOR MY DOG?

  • Yes — please do! We encourage all handlers to keep their dogs comfortable and hydrated throughout the event.

 

ABOUT THE PRIZE

• WHEN WILL THE WINNING DOG BE PHOTOGRAPHED FOR THE BEER CAN?

  • Photography for the beer can will be coordinated post-event with our Marketing Director. More details will be provided to the winner on the day of the event.

• WHEN DOES THE BEER RELEASE?

  • August 2026!

• WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE MERCHANDISE LINE?

  • The winning dog will be featured on our limited-edition beer cans, tap handles, t-shirts, tank tops, bandanas, stickers, and dog biscuits!

ABOUT TICKETS

• CAN MY FAMILY BUY TICKETS TO WATCH ME COMPETE?

  • Absolutely! We are currently confirming competitor participation before opening ticket sales to the public. Stay tuned!

• WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE COMPETITOR SWAG BAG?

  • Every competitor receives a Hana Koa swag bag at check-in including a 4-pack of Hana Koa beer, tote bag, bandana, stickers, and sunglasses!
